Meet Coco

Coco is an American photographer from Chicago, IL. She’s mother to five year old Darrin Frye. She works as a social media specialist at Intuit Mailchimp in Atlanta, GA.

In her early 20’s, Coco studied photography at The New York Film Academy in Manhattan. Her first photo documentary Faces of Samana was shot during a class trip to Dominican Republic in early 2015. That was the moment she produced her first body of work. She captured portraits of Dominicans in the streets of Samaná (Santa Bárbara de Samaná). She discovered her shooting style by directly approaching people and starting conversation. She believes that point of view is the thing that transform an image into art, and allowing others to share that experience is what makes her an artist.

Studying artists like Vashtie Kola, Jacob Webster, and Joshua Kissi early in her career - inspired her to dig deep into telling stories via camera. Her work has been featured in Vogue, and exhibited at The New York Film Academy. She works with other artists on accomplishing their creative needs and remains true to her editorial style.

Though based in Atlanta, she is available for editorial, portrait, documentary, and travel photography assignments worldwide. She keeps her passport ready!
