London Tea

Afternoon Tea at Sketch in London

During my recent trip to London, I decided to treat myself to some afternoon tea at Sketch. The restaurant used to be known for its pink interiors that were adorned with original artwork by David Shrigley, but it has since undergone a luxurious transformation. The new design, created by India Mahdavi and Yinka Shonibare, is absolutely stunning. The space The Gallery has been transformed into a modern magical wonderland with beautiful golden and sunny hues. It's truly a sight to behold!

From the moment I arrived, I was treated like royalty. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout my visit. I arrived early and was able to take in the stunning interior design of the restaurant before being seated. Once I was seated, I was promptly served with my starter, the Autumn Bavarois, which was perfect for the season. I opted for the black tea and Pommery Champagne to accompany my meal.

The assorted sandwiches were delicious, with my personal favorites being the Coronation Chicken, Cucumber & Egg Mayonnaise, Salmon & Ricotta, and Croque Monsieur. The sweets were equally delightful and I thoroughly enjoyed the Pineapple & Chilli Cheesecake, Sea Buckthorn Battenberg, Exotic Tart, Hazelnut Eclair, Chocolate & Coffee Macaron, and Grapefruit Marshmallow.

Also, I was completely blown away by the restroom architecture. The toilets were situated inside these large white pods and the colorful ceiling added a really nice touch. It felt like I was at an art museum.

The overall experience at Sketch was truly unforgettable, from the amazing service to the delicious food. I give this restaurant a 10/10. I cannot wait to return again soon!

Make sure that you book The Gallery room for this awesome experience. The earlier your reservation, the better for photos with less crowd. If live music is your thing, Sketch provides live entertainment in the afternoon to serenade you while you enjoy tea.
