Major shout-out to my cousin Patrick. He’s the reason this trip came about. He married the love of his life Jessica, in September. Their wedding was so beautiful. I lack visual evidence because I probably was too busy dancing with my son D-Tre and eating pizza. The music was on point. The DJ played music dedicated to my generation. There was also an open bar and a free pizza truck outside the venue. I didn’t want the night to end. I mean, who would?
Outside of the festivities, my trip was very chill. It was the first time I was able to stay downtown the majority of my time home. That was rare. I’m usually stressed when I travel back because everyone wants to link and traveling to connect all across the city is a lot. I’m grateful for friends who traveled to see me. Every moment was truly special. This trip was full of self-care and joy.
