Infinity Mirrors by. Yayoi Kusama

On Sunday, February 10th - I visited the High Museum in Atlanta for the popular Infinity Mirrors exhibit. I fought so hard to get tickets to this show.

Yayoi Kusama had a breakthrough in 1965 when she produced Infinity Mirror Room—Phalli’s Field. Using mirrors, she transformed the intense repetition of her earlier paintings and works on paper into a perceptual experience.

I remember seeing parts of this show in Chelsea, New York in 2015. By tracing the development of these iconic installations alongside a selection of her other key artworks, Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors aims to reveal the significance of the Infinity MIrror Rooms amidst today’s renewed interest in experiential practices and virtual spaces.

Thankfully, my girl Kiah was able to snag us some last minute photos before the show ended. Check it out.
